But if I need something I can't get from the standard algorithmic verbs I have, I turn to something like Altiverb or sometimes Eventide Blackhole (though it's not IR).įor those wondering, you can also find a number of great and interesting convolution verbs for much cheaper (obviously not identical) like AudioThing Convolver/etc, and there are tons of IR's to be found online. And the whole iLok thing, but that's not too relevant. I tend to use Valhalla more often, as it often fits what I need to do and their plugs are great in their own right (and priced very well), and they don't use nearly as much CPU for me.
Especially those crazy washed out type of verbs, and all sorts of ambient styles. As far as IR verbs go, I don't know that you can do much better, and you definitely can get different sounds out of them as opposed to algorithmic. However the price is quite huge, so you can search other alternative if this product doesn't fit your budget.It's definitely great! Pricey, but one of the top 3 IR verbs ever, IMO. Knowing what I know I would buy this product over and over again because of the quality provided by it and how realistic the reverb sounds. The Impulse Response library is now more accessible then ever.

I've tried several reverbs, some of my favorites are Aether, Reverberate and this product called Altiverb, you can do some crazy effects combining some presets provided by Aether and Altiverb. Altiverb 7 contains boatloads of great-sounding IRs - all instantly accessible and with total recall. Altiverb 7XL is the industry standard convolution reverb plug-in. Precision and quality of sounds is very very good, I would rate it 9.5/ 10, the only criticism that I can give is that it uses many resources, but aren't all high quality reverbs like this?. My opinion about the value of price is good, however this is a amateur plugin, it costs pretty much, and I do not advice to buy it unless you're very serious about your music, this product costs around 600$. I also do like how great and high quality this reverb sounds and it's use that is really really wide, from using on different acoustic instruments like piano or guitar to some synths like Native Instrument's Massive.
